Kala Utsav — an introductionA gap no one has filled
Indian communities across the U.S. have no centralised cultural and wellness ecosystem. Families want connection, belonging and high-quality programming for every age. Seniors, parents, youth and working professionals need spaces beyond temples and restaurants. And a digital wave is reshaping how communities learn, celebrate and support one another.
Kala Utsav closes that gap with a hybrid model — a digital platform running today, and a physical centre planned to follow.
Where we stand today
- Incorporated in Connecticut as a 501(c)(3) non-profit
- Advisory board formation underway
- Digital platform live
- Charter Families interest survey open
- Early donor conversations active
- Building partnership and site under evaluation for the centre
A permanent home for a living culture
We see a future where every family in the diaspora — from a five-year-old learning her first raga to a grandparent finding a chai circle — has a place that feels like home. A digital platform that brings verified teachers to any living room in America, and a physical centre where culture is practised, performed and passed on. Kala Utsav exists to build both, and to hold them to one standard: quality worth trusting, culture worth keeping.
