The vision

A centre built for generations

The Indian and South Asian diaspora in the USA is growing rapidly — yet lacks a comprehensive facility that blends culture, wellness, family recreation and community gathering. Kala Utsav is working to build that home.

Planned: a 50,000+ sq. ft. flagship facility. Location is being finalised with our building partner.

Kala Utsav — an introduction
How it gets built

Built in partnership

Kala Utsav is partnering with an established organisation to build and operate the facility, rather than carrying the construction alone. Under the model currently favoured, the partner builds and owns the centre and Kala Utsav pays per usage — for the studios, halls and spaces our programs occupy — keeping community funds focused on programming instead of construction debt.

Pay-per-usage model

Kala Utsav pays for the space its programs use, when they use it — a capital-light path to a world-class facility.

Other models under evaluation

Co-investment, long-term lease and hybrid ownership structures are also being assessed with advisors before anything is finalised.

What stays constant

Whatever the structure, the centre is programmed by Kala Utsav, for the community — the spaces, standards and spirit described below.
