How program pricing works
Pricing bands per program
- Every program carries a pricing band for each mode it runs in — group, private 1:1, online or in-person
- Bands reflect the provider’s country, the delivery mode, and the provider’s experience, among other factors
- If a band is not in the system yet, our Platform Executive works with you to structure one when your listing is set up
Events publish free
- There is no cost to publish an event on the platform
- Public, in-network or invite-only — the visibility level makes no difference to cost
- You keep control of any ticketing or charges for the event itself

Who can apply?
Teachers, artists, performers, wellness practitioners, cultural organisations and venue owners working in Indian languages, instruments, arts, wellness, culture or allied fields. Individual practitioners and established studios are equally welcome.
What are the criteria for empanelment?
Three things: your subject expertise and credentials, your prior teaching experience, and your fit with the community we serve. Once you are teaching, member ratings become part of the picture — they inform continued empanelment and how prominently your programs are featured.
Do I set my own pricing?
Yes. You set your program pricing and schedule. Kala Utsav reviews listings for quality and fit, not to dictate rates.
What formats can I teach?
Weekday programs (5 sessions over a week), monthly programs (10 sessions over a month, on weekends), and yearly programs (40 sessions across a year) — at Basic, Intermediate or Advanced level. Programs are expected to be outcome-based and progressive.
Can I list events as well as programs?
Yes — programs, one-off workshops, recitals, camps and community events. You can also list a venue if you have a space others can book.
Do I need my own venue?
No. Most current programs are taught entirely online. If you teach in person, you can use your own space or list against a partner venue.
Will my name appear on the website?
Programs are presented under the Kala Utsav verified instructor standard rather than individual names on the public site. Members see full instructor detail on the platform, and provider spotlights feature partners who want the visibility.
Do you require background checks for programs with children?
Yes. Background verification is part of empanelment. Any safeguarding concern raised by a member is investigated immediately — members can email hello@kala-utsav.org directly.
How and when do I get paid?
Our payout mechanism and cycle are being finalised. We confirm the terms directly with every provider before their first listing goes live — ask us at hello@kala-utsav.org and we will tell you where it stands.
I already teach elsewhere. Can I do both?
Yes. Listing with Kala Utsav is not exclusive.
